Quick Update on Lois

This is just a quick update on Lois. Isn't she beautiful. I'm stitching her on 40ct and as you can see there is a lot of over one in it. I find that its better for me if I do this during the day.

I love the colour scheme of this sampler. Besides the verse in this photo the rose bud is also worked over one.

It's amazing when you are tired and work on a sampler (which is something I really mustn't do). When I started working on the wave pattern above the verse I had either the pattern or the colour upside down and you guessed it. I misread one of the symbols. Anyway to cut a long story short. The wave pattern should be blue with the same symbol facing the other way and it ended up being worked in grey. I decided that I quite liked the grey so I kept it there (or in other words, I couldn't be bothered undoing it LOL Shhhh).

Yesterday, I decided to have what I call a "bliss" day, where I would sit and watch the second part of a DVD that I had been enjoying and that I would also sit and stitch. I watched my second DVD of "Wives and Daughters" and happily stitched the bell flower over one. It was 3 hours of pure heaven. I didn't have to go and pick anybody up and take them anywhere.

Well I better go and do some of the dreaded housework. My eldest son and Daughter-in-Law are coming to spend the night so I had better get on and do some work. I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Looks like we are here. Spring is here. I have forget-me-nots everywhere and my blue bells are starting to open. Heaven.

That looks lovely - and the change of colour isn't an error, it's personalisation :o)

Hi Sandra
Lois looks wonderful!
I'm amazed you can work on 40ct. over '1' I did try the other night working on 32ct. with my magnifier clipped on the hoop and my 'reading' glasses on (picture that)I did it, and I now understand the skill it takes.
Have a Good Weekend!!!

Mornin' Sandra
Just took a look at The Stitching Post
'Oh! so much to stitch' What a wonderful shop.
How is your sister? What a fright that must have been.
I think? its going to be Bristol Fashion...I shall finish off FFF, and mark up the grid for the Spanish Sampler while I'm wating for the pattern to get here. Well thats the 'decision' at 8.05am as I write.
You have a great weekend...Cheers Joan ((*_*))

Gorgeous work, Sandra! I also think that the grey looks fine. How can you do such tiny stitching? I'd need more than daylight, that's for sure!

Hello...
Sorry to hear about your Boy, our grandson Hamish 9 had pneumonia about a month ago. He is fine now, had 2 weeks off school.Which he thought was wonderful the first week, then bored out of his brain the second week. You've had a bit of a rough trot lately Hey! Lets hope things settle down now.
A cushion sounds a good idea Hmmmm!
You take care now...Joan ((*_*))

Perfectly lovely sampler, Sandra. The colors are so beautiful. I love stitching on 40 ct. it makes for a stunning finished piece. I use 1/2 stitches, though. Are you using them, or full cross stitches? Bluebells are out??? Oh, so pretty...
Hugs, Deb

Hi Sandra,

Oh my but Lois is looking just
spectacular. What beautiful colours
are being used to create the sweet
flowers. I really like this design.
The verse is very pretty too, and
fortunately the gray border looks
quite nice with it. :)

Your "Bliss" day sounds heavenly.
I could really use one or two of
those right now. I don't stitch
while watching tv, but I do like
listening to talk radio, or to
music, while stitching.

Gosh, I was sorry to read that
your youngest son had to be
hospitalized with pneumonia.
What a nasty thing. Hope he's
doing better now. Has he had
pneumonia before?? Kids don't
seem to like wearing the proper
cloths for cold weather, do they?

Re: Anastasia - I think most of
us are familiar with the case of
Anna Anderson, who claimed to be
the Grand Duchess Anastasia, but
I believe a few other women came
forward claiming to be one or
another of the Duchesses, and I think one young man even claimed
to be the young Alexi. Sadly, as
you said, in actual fact none of
the Tsar's children survived the
horrible massacre.

We're having a bit of "Indian
Summer" here this weekend. It's
our Thanksgiving weekend, which
means we have Monday off work.
And the weather is suppose to
be sunny and warm (around 70
degrees) for the entire three
days. Talk about Bliss!!

Cheers!
