Harriet Is Almost Finished

I'm sorry that I haven't been blogging lately. I seem to have lost the blogging bug. Every day lately, I think that I should update my blog, but something comes along to distract me and before I know it the day is nearly over.

I have been slowly plodding along with Harriet Burry and she is really a beautiful sampler, but she can be a bit of pain in the you know where. She has her tricky moments. She is quite a large sampler so it is a bit hard to take a decent full size photo of her.
I am slowly working on the border which is beautiful. I had so much trouble with her over the weekend that she nearly ended up in the garbage bin. Well, not quite, but I thought about it for a second or two. Luckily I think I have nailed her and I will continue on until she is finished. I am really looking forward to doing something else. I think Hannah Lancaster might be the one as I am trying to finish her before the New Year. I can only hope.
We have had an amazing lot of weather here over the last few days. It is Spring. One day it is really beautiful. The next day it is freezing and we have to light our fire again. On Saturday we even had a heavy down pour of snow, but unfortunately not enough to settle. No wonder people end up with colds etc at this time of the year.
Thank you for all your lovely comments regarding my work. I enjoy reading them. I'm sorry that I have become such a bad blogger.

Harriet is coming along nicely, and won't this be a stunning sampler when you finish! I can't believe you already had snow!

Impressive. And beautiful. Glad it wasn't tossed!

What a beauty Harriet is! I always try to get a big portion of the border done before I start the 'actual' sampler. If I left the border until the end, my samplers would never, ever get finished!

Good to see you post again, Sandra. Your Harriet is gorgeous!! Someone else had said that the chart for Harriet is frustrating but it looks like you made it through. Funny that you had some snow -- happy spring to you! lol!

I am glad that you are persevering, and that you posted an update. Don't fret about being a bad blogger. The blog is yours, for you and your pleasure as much as the pleasure we all get from seeing your lovely stitching. Just continue to 'throw us a bone' now and then, okay?

Harriet is beautiful Sandra. I can't believe you left the border for last!!! I'm glad that you didn't toss her in the trash. She is beautiful!

Hope the snow is over with and it warms up in your part of the world!

Harriet is close to a finish. She is absolutely beautiful and although you have found her frustrating at times, she will be worth it at the end.
Blogging seems to be hitting a slump for many these days. I think the market has become so large it is almost impossible to keep up. I seem to go in waves too.
Good to hear from you. Have missed your updates.

Harriet looks great! I am working on her, too, and need to finish the border on the bottom, over one verse and the tree and sheep on the right side of the gate. She is definitely a labor of love! Oh, how beautiful she will be when she is framed! Blessings from Kentucky - kelley

Gosh Sandra, I am so happy to see you finish her, but I feel bad about neglecting mine for so long. She is a beautiful sampler and you should be proud. My hat is off to you! Great job!

Harriet looks great! You are NOT a bad blogger. Everybody understands that it's important to enjoy your life and have fun, and that blogging is secondary to that. Pop in when you can--I know I speak for us all when I say that we love to hear from you--and don't apologize! xo

Oh, what a beauty Harriet is. And you are right about the border, it looks wonderful. Most borders with this kind of sampler look so great but they are sometimes a bit boring to stitch.
