I'm Back And A Finish

I'm sorry I have been away for so long, but I have been having computer problems. We have 2 desk top computers and would you believe both of them had problems within a week of each other. Both had to be sent away to be repaired and they came back the same day. So I haven't been able to show you my progress on Grazing Sheep.

As you can see, she is now completely finished. She is a beautiful sampler and I loved working on her. In case you were wondering, all the sheep are filled with Bullion Stitch. I always like doing Bullion Stitch and French Knots so they aren't a problem for me. All I have to do now is get a frame for her and frame her.

This is my next piece. It is another Scarlet Letter sampler (I love Scarlet Letter samplers lol). This one is called Sophia's Sampler and it is really beautiful. Guess what it has down the bottom. Yes, more sheep. I told you I like samplers with sheep in them. I am collecting quite a few of them. If I had the space, I could start a sampler sheep wall.

This is my current progress on Sophia. I am currently working on the large vase of flowers that is in the middle of the top section. This sampler is in 3 sections. The top section is a bit flowery, with butterflies and trees etc. The middle section has the verse. It is a verse that I seem to be getting a few samplers with, - Jesus Permit they gracious name to stand etc. although this one has a slight twist to it, Sophia added her name into the second line. The bottom section has the sheep.

I also wanted to show you the beautiful pinkeep that Suzanne from Squazi and the Chickens sent me. Isn't it beautiful. It is something that I don't have and I have never made my self one as I seem to work on big samplers. It has pride of place in my work basket.
On the health front, I am going along fine and venturing further and further.

And I know how to do them too, and don't mind them either! lol! Love your Sophia too. I'd forgotten about the sheep on the bottom on her. :D The pinkeep from Suzanne is lovely!

I love your samplers. I just finished the Needles Prayse Garden of
Eden sampler and I would advise if you are going to use the speciality stitches stay with the size linen she used. Rice stitch over two in solid stitching gets a little messy for me, and I used 32 count. I really wished that I had used 28.Now, the real reason that I am writing, is that looking at your earlier posts I saw that you did Sarah Moon and I would like to know if you used the colors charted? Sincerely Carol

Oh Sandra, you are my inspiration! I know I tell you that with every comment, but it's true. You take on the samplers that I want to do but are afraid of. I wish I could sit by you and stitch, so you could hold my hand. Grazing sheep is simply stunning. Those sheep are so 3D, and cool looking. I hope your computer woes are behind you so we can selfishly live through your fabulous stitching. I'm off to take a closer look at Sophia. Gotta love Scarlet Letter.
What a sweet gift from Suzanne, too.

I'm so glad that you got your computer back and running. I have been dying to see pictures of Grazing Sheep and I'm definitely not disappointed. Sandra, it is absolutely beautiful! I can't believe all those bouillon stitches. They look so wonderful, but I can't even imagine doing them. I don't know what else to say - I'm just sitting her with my mouth open looking at your wonderful finish.

Wonderful start on Sophia's Sampler too. She is going to be another beauty.

I know I owe you an email - I will do that real soon!!

Hello Sandra
You had me confused with another Alice but I agree, those sheep of yours are just awesome. I am often on your blog admiring your beautiful stitching. You choose lovely projects and I still asked myself a couple of days ago whether I could cope stitching the Grazing Sheep sampler. You finished it off beautifully. Do you know what you are stitching next? I cannot wait to see. ; )

Dear Friend, Congratulations on another gorgeous sampler completed. I for one do not know how you do it when I'm struggling to get even one finished. I think I have a very dire case of startitis. :P But, you make stitching proud!
The little pinkeep from Suzanne is darling. She's the sweetest...
Hugs!
