The Girls Are Framed

I didn't get much stitching done over the weekend as I finally sat down and framed both Betsy and Beatrix.

I tried a new method of doing it. Vonna has this really good tutorial on how to frame a sampler and I tried that. I bought some acid free board with foam in the middle a heap of pins and I was off. So much easier than the lacing method. It is not perfect, but I am quite happy with the out come that is the main thing.

I haven't hung them as yet as I have to get some stronger hooks before I put them on the wall. Especially Betsy. Don't want her crashing down on my head lol. Even worse if it happened to land on my DH's. The thought of that makes me shudder lol.

On the stitching front, here is my update on Hannah Lancaster. I really didn't get that much done but I am really enjoying stitching her along with my friend Tawny. I'm looking forward to seeing Tawny's progress, but really at the stage where we both are, there isn't much to show.
On the Grazing Sheep front is is definitely nothing to report. I haven't done anything on her since last week and she has even less than Hannah.
Well, until next time, I hope you all have a lovely long weekend to my friends in the States. If you aren't in the States I hope you all have a lovely week.

  1. Sandra, both your pieces look wonderful framed (of course, they looked wonderful before too). I still can not get over all the beautiful work you did on Betsy. Both are wonderful finishes, but Betsy is just the absolute best!!!

  10. Betsy and Beatrice are absolutely gorgeous! You did a wonderful job framing too! They look so professional...maybe you should look into the framing business! As we stitchers know, there is a lot of money to be had in framing! Again, congrats on your finishes and Happy Stitching!

  14. What an outstanding framer you are!!! WOW, these are both amazing!!!! Very impressive. Such an accomplishment to see them hanging. Mine never get framed that fast. Nice work on Hannah, it is always fun to add new 'colors' into a piece dont you think!

  15. Hi Sandra,

I love your finished and framed
    pieces!! Betsy is simply
    stunning in all her glorious
detail and I imagine if we were
able to see her in person we
    would probably be even more
    in awe of her.

I really love Beatrix Potter too
    although I've heard from several
    bloggers who've stitched her that
it is not a fun stitch. I think
her a beautiful piece though and
I love the color that you chose
    to stitch her in.

    Vonna's tutorials are very good
and she seems to have a real
    knack for finishing off stitched
    pieces, whether by sewing them
    into ornaments or framing them.

    Hannah Lancaster is looking
    great so far.

    Cheers!

  16. Both framed pieces look great - well done!

I, too, had a love-hate relationship with Beatrix. I am so glad she is finished and she now needs to be framed although I am having this done professionally.

  17. Sandra,

GORGEOUS! One question for you - do you advise washing the finished work before framing?
